PARISH NEWS - 14 February 2021

Thank you to everyone who took time to attend our ‘online vestry’ this year.

As well as the business required we took time to give thanks for many things including the work of our wardens, the phone calls and Zoom meetings that keep us connected, our children’s ministry, our community dinner and the hard work of Nora organizing them, the children’s Christmas service, the work of the Association of Dundas Churches, weekly opportunities to sing along to our ‘With A Song’ video, the replacement of the church floor, new flooring in the choir and children’s rooms, the establishment of our building committee, the work of our fundraising committee, the hundreds of winter coats collected so far, our Christmas families, the generous giving of so many people, the hard work of our staff…. And lots more.

Ash Wednesday is Wednesday 17th February. There will be a special live-streamed service at 10am that morning on Facebook. You can access the service sheet here:

One way to do justly, love mercy, and walk humbly this Lent is to change our habits and practices to care for God’s creation. A resource called ‘A Fast for the Earth’ prepared by the Diocese of Toronto is recommended as a meaningful guide by our Environmental Justice Team and is available on our website or by clicking here:

LENT COURSE 2021: Prayer

A course exploring ways of praying will be led by Mike via Zoom on Wednesdays during Lent at 7pm starting on Wednesday 24th. To take part, please email Mike Deed before Friday this week at to register.

During Lent the weekly Compline service will move to 8.30pm to accommodate our Lent Prayer workshop

The Association of Dundas Churches will offer a weekly video reflection and time of prayer each Wednesday during Lent at 12noon on both Facebook and YouTube. While we won't be able to gather for our usual ‘lunches’ we hope you will join us at any time of the day from 12noon to join with all our churches on the journey of Lent together.

Our weekly podcast is available to listen to here:

Join us on Thursday morning at 10am for our weekly ‘coffee hour’ – a chance to share time and fellowship with one another.

A Journey through Lent

God of Mercy, I feel my heart overflowing with your tenderness. I sense your loving touch deep within my soul. I ask for your help in my weakness that I might be faithful to your word and I am so grateful that your mercy for my failings is as strong as your unbounded love for me.
