Artist Statement.jpg

Mary Pat's art journey began many years ago when her children were small. Inspired by her desire to illustrate a children’s story she had written, she took her first art class. Gathering her courage, she enrolled at a nearby university, starting with drawing and composition. Over the years, she has mastered various mediums, including watercolor, printmaking, pottery, bronze sculpture, stone carving, and both acrylic and oil painting. Although the story remains unillustrated, her passion for creating art has flourished.

Travel has played a significant role in Mary Pat’s life, deeply influencing her work. She has explored the globe extensively, cherishing the opportunity to see great masters in museums and visit the locations where their masterpieces were created. Now residing in Dundas, she paints both plein air and in her studio, embracing the vibrant artistic community around her.
