Working in oil, acrylic, watercolour, ink and pencil crayon, George Wastle conveys the highs and lows of his life journey with warmth and dynamic lighting. His detailed scenes have vibrant colours and a touch of whimsy. Studying in France and Italy, and travelling in Europe inspired him to paint colourful landscapes, unique nature and historic architecture. His work also explores the optical effects of light and its spiritual symbolism.

A graduate of Redeemer University with a Bachelor’s degree in Art and French, he also took art classes in Florence, illustration and design at OCAD University, and plein air and palette knife painting at Dundas Valley School of Art.

A member of the Art Gallery of Burlington, he regularly exhibits in galleries, art shows and festivals. In 2023, his painting won an award for the Theme Challenge “Celebrate Imagination” at Pelham Art Festival. Some of his works are in private collections in Canada, US and Europe. He takes art commissions, does illustrations and graphic design.
