COMPLINE

A reminder that our livestreamed service of compline is now at 8.30pm every Wednesday evening.

COMMUNITY DINNER- We need bags!

We continue to serve a community dinner every Monday evening from Saint James. Seven of the ADC churches are now involved in this ministry!

It would be helpful for us to have reusable bags for people to take away their dinner in.

If you have spare reusable bags that you can donate, please clean them and drop them at the parking lot door to the church in the coming week! Thank you!

KNITTERS AND YARN

You may have seen our flyer for knitted Easter chicks, bunnies and baskets which are for sale. But we also need people willing to knit and donations of wool! If you can help in either way, please contact Anne Washington as soon as possible!

A FAST FOR THE EARTH LENT 2021

One way to do justly, love mercy, and walk humbly this Lent is to change our habits and practices to care for God’s creation. A resource called ‘A Fast for the Earth’ prepared by the Diocese of Toronto is recommended as a meaningful guide by our Environmental Justice Team and is available on our website or by clicking here: https://tinyurl.com/y343zl4f

WITH A SONG IN MY HEART

If you have not yet done so, please check out our special service which premiered on Facebook and Youtube this past Sunday and sing along with songs inspired by scripture.

While we wont be able to gather for our usual ‘lunches’ we hope you will join us at any time of the day from 12noon to join with all our churches on the journey of Lent together.

PRAYER OF THE WEEK

O God,

we thank You for this earth, our home;

for the wide sky and the blessed sun,

for the ocean and streams,

for the towering hills and the whispering wind,

for the trees and green grass.

We thank You for our senses by which we hear the songs of birds,

and see the splendor of fields of golden wheat,

and taste autumn’s fruit, and rejoice in the feel of snow,

and smell the breath of spring flowers.

Grant us a heart opened wide to all this beauty;

and save us from being so blind that we pass unseeing

when even the common thornbush is aflame with your glory.

Amen.
