St George’s Day
Saint George's Day is the feast day of Saint George, celebrated by Christian churches, countries, regions, and cities from which he is the main patron saint, including England, Ethiopia, Georgia, Catalonia, Aragon, Palestine, Rio de Janeiro, Alcoi, and Genoa, and also where he is an important patron saint, including Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Greece, Lithuania, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Syria, and Lebanon.
Saint George's Day is usually celebrated on 23 April, the traditionally accepted date of the saint's death.
WEDNESDAY – COMPLINE – 9:15 p.m.
Compline is a short service of night prayer. The heart of Compline is the recitation of several psalms. There is a short reading from scripture, intercession, and time for reflection. It is a beautiful way to close out an active day. Compline is offered by St. James’ through Facebook to bring the community together. If you cannot join live, the service is available
afterwards on St. James’ Facebook channel.
Messy Church Fun!
Please speak with Leslie if you can help with set up, take down, kitchen prep, wash up, or oversight a children’s ministry station. The only requirement is a willingness to have fun and fellowship in the process! The commitment is only once per month.

St James’ Wardens: organizational chart
We’re pleased to introduce our new wardens and the areas of parish life they each support. This chart outlines their specific responsibilities, helping to keep our community connected and our day-to-day operations running smoothly. Our sincere thanks to the wardens for their dedication, generosity, and faithful service to St. James.

You’re invited to the Bishop’s Company
Bishop Susan Bell would like to invite the parishioners of St James Dundas to attend the 2026 Bishop’s Company Fundraising Dinner on May 28, 2026. Proceeds from the dinner provide vital discretionary funding that allows the bishop to respond strategically and compassionately to the emerging needs of our diocesan leaders, both lay and ordained.
For the first time in it’s history, the Bishop’s Company Annual Fundraising Dinner will be open to the public! Tickets for non-members are $175 each, and include a 3-course meal, pre-dinner reception, complimentary beverage, and a charitable receipt for a potion of the ticket. Additionally, a parish table of eight can purchase for $1000 inclusive ($125 each).
The dinner will be hosted at Carmen Events Centre in Hamilton, where Bishop Susan will be joined by Archbishop Shane Parker, 15th Primate of the Anglican Church of Canada. The event will also include a silent auction, complimentary photobooth, and musical entertainment during the reception.
To secure your tickets, simply visit the 2026 Bishop’s Company Fundraising Dinner event page and register today! Tickets are available starting May 1, with final numbers required by May 14.
