MAKING IT HAPPEN!

A HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who has given so generously so far to our ‘Making It Happen’ Campaign. As was announced in our service yesterday we have raised $6600. This means that we have raised enough money for our first goal and will be installing our sound system update, camera and livestreaming system by the end of July.

If you have any questions, about the current finances, please contact any of the wardens for more information.

LET THERE BE LIGHT

Part 2 of our ‘Making It Happen’ campaign aims to raise $8000 for the replacement of our light fixtures throughout the basement to make the space safe and usable again. We anticipate a government rebate of $1400! We already have $550 raised for our part, which leaves us with $6050 to go! Watch this space in the coming weeks as we launch our ‘buy a bulb’ raffle with 5 awesome gifts basket prizes to be won!

MAKING IT HAPPEN ALL HANDS ON DECK!

Apart from financial giving, we also need volunteers to ‘Make It Happen’: part of our campaign to ensure our church is well maintained, clean and refreshed to welcome everyone back in-person involves a whole host of practical tasks- cleaning, painting, grounds maintenance. If you might be able to spare a few hours, please let Terese H. know via contacting the office 905-627-1424 - she’ll be organizing work teams over the coming month.

THE GREAT PHONE AUCTION 2

Our next GREAT PHONE AUCTION will be held on July 10th 3pm-5pm. The flyer is attached to this email and we ask you to share it as widely as you possibly can. You can also download the flyer and look at the Auction Catalogue via the front page of our website www.stjamesdundas.ca

The wider our publicity the more bidders might get involved.

Thanks to everyone making this event happen.

PLANNING FOR THE FUTURE

We are hoping that, provincial and Diocesan guidelines permitting, we will be able to gather again for in-person worship starting on Sunday 12th September 2021. We anticipate we will still need to limit numbers, wear masks and observe distancing at that time. More information will be shared as we get closer to that time.

ZOOM COFFEE HOUR

It’s Canada Day this week and our Coffee hour continues. We meet at 10am on Thursday morning.

All are welcome to join us via Zoom:

PRAYER OF THE WEEK

A Collect (from Indigenous Ministries, Anglican Church of Canada, written to accompany the Covenant of 1994)

Creator God, from you every family in heaven and on earth takes its name. You have rooted and grounded us in your covenant love, and empowered us by your Spirit to speak the truth in love, and to walk in your way towards justice and wholeness. Mercifully grant that your people, journeying together in partnership, may be strengthened and guided to help one another to grow into the full stature of Christ, who is our light and our life. Amen.
