A Note from our Music Director
The Choir met on Tuesday evening last week, and I am very excited to begin working on new music together! We warmly welcome anyone who would like to join us.
Choir rehearsals are held every Tuesday evening from 7:30–9:00 p.m. and Sunday mornings at 9:15 a.m. Let’s work together to grow the music ministry at St. James and lift our voices to the Lord!
Please email Lina at lina.pianist@gmail.com if you are interested in joining the choir or have any questions.

The Season of Creation is the annual Christian celebration to pray and respond together to the cry of Creation. The ecumenical family around the world unites to contemplate and care for our common home, the Oikos of God. The Season’s “Celebration” begins on September 1, the day that several Christian denominations celebrate as the World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation. It ends on October 4, the Feast of Saint Francis of Assisi, who is beloved by many Christian denominations. This year, we will unite around the theme “Living Water”, with the symbol “Immersion in Living Water”, inspired by Ezekiel 47: 9 and 12.
Garden Project Update
Last week, the technician from RainTree Irrigation Systems came to St. James to do a “Show and Tell” on the new sprinkler system that has been installed throughout our lawn and gardens. Through a special cellphone app Marline, Terese and Shawn can control the RainTree system. Each zone will be systematically watered during the night. However, if we’ve had enough rain during the day or for a couple of days the system will know not to engage for watering. This is managed by a special sensor that is connected to the system.
This week we’ve received our new property survey. Watch for the installation of our new fence that will replace the broken one near the Co-Op playground. Plans are also underway for the delivery and installation of the armour stone terrace in the scatter garden and the building of a retaining wall in the front garden. This will most likely happen after October 8th.

100th Anniversary of St. James Building
This week we remember Archdeacon Archibald Cameron McIntosh and his wife Georgiana McIntosh. He was the rector of St. James and also the Archdeacon of Wentworth and Haldimand from 1922-1950. They are pictured here in 1944 at the Dundas Driving Park. Do you have memories of Archdeacon McIntosh? If so, let us know.
As we get closer to the celebration weekend in November (November 20 and 22), keep your eyes on the October e-blasts for more information.
