Message from the St. James’ Holiday House Tour Committee
Message from St. James' Holiday House Tour Committee
Please put Saturday December 2, in your calendar to help at the Holiday House Tour. It is an important fundraising and outreach event for the church. Last year, we raised $23,000 to support the outreach programs and ministries of St. James. More than 1,000 people visited the church to shop and enjoy refreshments.
On Sunday November 5th, signup sheets will be available in the Narthex for volunteers.
Please consider the following ways that you can help ensure that the 47th annual House Tour is a major success:
Greeters who work at the homes on the tour. If you enjoy meeting people and are able to stand for five hours (with breaks), this is the job for you. The five-hour shift may be shared with a partner.
Tea rooms need helpers to pour tea for one-hour shifts in the parlour and cafe in the sanctuary.
Setting up the kitchen beforehand and/or cleaning up after the event.
Apple pie bakers on November 15th
Baking Christmas cookies on November 8 and 22nd
Help putting up lawn signs around town on November 26th and retrieving them on December 3rd.
Deliver House Tour flyers to local businesses
Help with setting up and/or taking down tables and pews
Any questions? House Tour Committee Members will be there on November 5th to answer all of your questions.
Do you know a young person who is looking to get high school credits for volunteering in the community? Please check with your family to see if they or their friends may be interested in having fun while engaging with the public.
Feel free to contact the House Tour Chair, Gillian Hendry or any member of the House Tour Committee with your questions and suggestions.

'Singing out' to future Choir Members
Choir Rehearsals are Thursdays at 7:30 pm. We are actively recruiting new members for all sections of the Choir (SATB). It would be helpful to be able to read music. There is an urgent need for an increase of 2 Altos, 2 Tenors and 3 Basses. Please remember, those who sing in a Choir always have a parking spot and sit in some of the best seats in the building. Great comradery from being in a close-knit team of people who love to sing.
If you are interested in joining the Choir, or know of someone who loves to sing and is interested in joining the Choir please contact Richard Hansen, Organist and Choir Director via the office 905-627-1424 or stjamesdundas@outlook.com
