St. James Mission Statement

“To know Jesus and share Love through prayer, story, and service”

NOMINATIONS BEING ACCEPTED NOW!

The “Jill Award” is an award given annually to a volunteer who exemplifies the spirit volunteerism at St James Church, particularly those who encourage the next generation of volunteers. The qualities in such a volunteer would include accountability, inclusivity, a passion for helping others, dependability, and commitment. Nominations are open until February 8th. The Jill Award will be presented at the annual vestry meeting of St James Church. This completed form should be submitted directly to the Rector or one of the Wardens via email or hardcopy.

Over the years, the Jill Award has honoured volunteers whose dedication and spirit have helped shape the life of St. James and inspire others to serve. Past recipients include Terese Herron; Sandy MacIntosh and Heather Bancroft; Lynn Dykeman; Carleon Hardie; and Miriam Reed. Each of these individuals has embodied the values at the heart of the Jill Award—commitment, inclusivity, dependability, and a genuine passion for encouraging volunteerism within our church community.

 Feb 1st, 8th, and 15th

A three-part conversation series with parishioner, David Brown, that seeks to explore how science and the church each tell stories of creation—not as rivals, but as partners in wonder.  Together, we’ll look back at our origins in order to imagine faithful, hopeful ways of living into the future.

Get a beverage and meet in the parlour following worship. Snacks provided.

Please see the attached reading material for each of the three sessions

Peace by Chocolate Product Recall

There has been a product recall by Peace by Chocolate, this is a voluntary and precautionary recall by the company in response to pistachios and pistachio-containing products that have been linked to salmonella outbreaks.

The only product we have sold that potentially could be affected is the box of 15 chocolates, the classic assorted box. If you purchased and still have this box of chocolates you can return them to the church office or bring on a Sunday and we will provide a refund. None of the chocolates in this box contain pistachios; this is purely precautionary due to potential of cross contamination.

If you have questions or concerns please speak to Terese
