WINTER COAT & BOOT DRIVE

THANK YOU so much to parishioners and others who contributed to the 13th Annual Winter Coat, Boot, Blanket, Sleeping Bag, and other clothing, Drive.

It concluded at the end of March.  If you have future donations, please take them to a social service agency in Hamilton where they can be easily accessed by people in need of them.

 BOOK CLUB!

A desire to become a member of a Book Club, which meets one day a month on a weekday - except for the summer months, has been expressed by some members of St. James.  You would meet in each others' homes once a month; taking turns hosting and presenting a book everyone has read.  The presenter is the person who recommended the book.  If you would like to become a member of this group, please get in touch with the office 905-627-1424 or stjamesdundas@outlook.com

   Newcomer Update!

St. James is delighted to report that may of our newer congregation

members have found housing and jobs. Some continue to look for jobs.

If you, or anyone you know has a half day doing yard work or spring

cleaning there are many folks ready to assist you as they await permanent

jobs.  For a labour position 20-25 an hour is the current norm.  The

newcomer folks are enthusiastic hard workers.

We continue to be asked what items the newcomers might benefit from.

As summer proceeds a bicycle is a wonderful means of exploring

Hamilton and a means to get to work.  Laptops/computers are critically

important for people looking for work or taking courses.  If you have one

not being used there is a home for it.  Other items that are always

needed are pots and pans, ovenware, cutlery, microwaves, electrical

appliances and flat screen TV's double and queen sheets and bedding. If

you have any of these items. The newcomers are overwhelmed by your generosity.  Many thanks for all of your support.  Contact the office for more information 905-627-1424 or stjamesdundas@outlook.com.
