PARISH NEWS - 30 May 2021

A NOTE ON SOUND

On Sunday’s our service livestreams to the internet from the church. When we ‘go live’ we check that the sound and audio are uploading at the right pace. A number of people have reported sound problems this past Sunday; this can be caused by many things including the speed of your device (close other programs to ensure livestream gets optimal connection) and the speed of your internet connection (dependent on your provider and plan). If you experience problems, please try closing all other programs, then re-starting your connection to the time of worship.

MAKING IT HAPPEN!

It is great news that we have so far raised $2500 towards our ‘Making It Happen’ campaign. Thank you to everyone who has given so generously! The first goal is to upgrade our sound system and purchase a camera and computer for our online ministry. The cost is $6500 and we have a grant for $1500 of that from the Diocese. If you want to know more about the campaign, the letter from the corporation and the information leaflet are available from the front page of our website or by clicking on the links below:

We are deeply grateful to everyone who gives to this campaign and understand that not everyone is able to do so especially at this time. The hope of the parish council and corporation is that we can address a number of our building concerns now, so that when we are able to gather again we can place all our attention on getting ministries into action.

TWO WAYS TO HELP:

Can you help our local community in one of two ways:

  1. Can you donate reusable grocery bags (all sizes) to help us meet a need at Ellen Osler Home?

  2. Can you donate any of the following items for Dundas Food Bank: shampoo, hand soap, shower gel, laundry detergent, toothpaste, toothbrushes (new in package), baby food, baby formula, diapers, feminine hygiene products, mouthwash, dental floss, dishwashing liquid?

Boxes will be left outside the parking lot entrance to the church for drop of at any time. THANK YOU!

CLIMATE ACTION

The Climate Action Team of the Association of Dundas Churches is inviting us to send letters asap to the Hamilton Conservation Board in opposition to the proposal, by a developer, to relocate the last original wetland in the Ancaster Creek Watershed to accommodate five warehouses and parking for thousands of cars. Address to the chair Lloyd Ferguson, and contact via Jaime.Tellier@conservationhamilton.ca. The HCA board will debate this Thurs. June 3. For more information on this issue please contact the office 905-627-1424

PRAYER OF THE WEEK

Let us Pray to the one God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit that our lives may bear witness to our faith Holy God you sent your Word to bring us truth and your Spirit to make us holy. Through them we come to know the mystery of your life. Help us to worship you, one God in three Persons, by proclaiming and living our faith in you. We ask you this, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, one God, true and living, for ever and ever.

Amen.
