Holiday Hope
Lots of beautiful cloth bags were made and are ready for filling with the gifts requested by kids in our city through the Holiday Hope program. Thank you to all who donated material and our seamstresses who got the sewing done! Now it’s time to take a card with a child’s request of a toy or clothing item and then bring it unwrapped back to the church by Dec. 7th at the latest. There will be envelopes to take for cash donations to help give the families a holiday meal and some stocking stuffer suggestions. They will all be on display in the Sanctuary. Dec. 7th will be our annual sorting day to turn the parlour into Santa’s Workshop and fill those lovely bags. Thank you to all who can help brighten a family’s holiday!

50 Years Celebration St Matt’s
From bell bottoms to broadband to a name change, we’ve seen it all — and now it’s time to celebrate St. Matt’s and its 18,250 days of community building. On Thursday, November 27, 2025 we’re gathering with our donors, volunteers, neighbours, and the wider community to celebrate 50 years of community impact at St. Matt’s. Co-hosted by community leader, entrepreneur and board member of Hamilton Chamber of Commerce Lohifa Pogoson Acker and legendary local musician, author, playwright and activist Tom Wilson, this is sure to be a night to remember with food stations inspired by the decades, spectacular visual and spoken-word storytelling, great music from throughout the years, and good vibes all around. Rotary Socks and Skivvies Drive
For the past five years, the Dundas Sunrise Rotary Club has worked with local business, your own neighbourhood, places of worship et al to collect new t-shirts, socks, undergarments, winter hats, gloves & mitts for re-distribution to community support groups who will ensure that these items get to those in need...last year, we collected more than $7,000 worth of items that found their way to 11 organizations for distribution. One donation (several large bags full) was to Seafarers on behalf of St. James Church. A blue bin will be placed in the church Narthex for Sunday November 16th and 23rd to collect donations. Regards, Dave.
