PARISH NEWS - 18 July 2021

GARAGE SALE

As part of our getting ready for the reopening of the church we are having an outdoor church garage sale Saturday July 24th from 10-12. This is not our regular garage sale where we ask for donations from the congregation. The goal of this garage sale is to empty the church! If you have been doing spring cleaning and want to sell some items you may do so from the trunk of your car on Saturday AM. NO donations left at the church please. We will need volunteers at the church on Wednesday AM starting at 10 AM and Saturday starting at 8 AM. We would love to have some children and grandchildren volunteer-we will have forms ready for volunteer hours. Please email Lynn D. through the office stjamesdundas@outlook.com if you are able to help either day. If you have some more valuable items items you want to sell and can not be there Saturday please email Lynn D. to discuss the items. Do not drop them at the church please. Many thanks-please email the attached poster to friends and post it on your social media.

REOPENING

Many of you will have read the Bishop’s Pastoral Letter (attached) announcing that churches across the Diocese will start reopening in the coming weeks. The exact date for reopening at Saint James will be decided in the coming two weeks. We need to adapt to a few new guidelines to ensure as best we can, our safety when we gather. The number of people permitted will be higher than when we previously opened. Please note we will still need to register in advance (for contact tracing), we will need to wear masks and keep our distance. We will not yet be able to have coffee hour, nor will we be able to sing together. Children’s church also wont be able to run for the time being. Those who volunteered as greeters at our last reopening will be contacted in the coming weeks by Barb or Anne and a schedule created. More information will follow as soon as we have it!

ZOOM COFFEE HOUR

Our weekly Coffee hour continues each week on Zoom, a chance to connect with others in our parish community.

We meet at 10am on Thursday morning.
