SERVICES AND GATHERINGS IN THE SEASON OF LENT!

SUNDAY, March 19th, 2023 – 10:00 a.m. 4th Sunday in LENT. We hope to see you in person. If you are unable to attend, the service is live streamed. For links to the service and the order of service please visit St. James at: stjamesdundas.ca or the St. James Facebook page.


WEDNESDAY – COMPLINE – 8.30 p.m. Compline is a short service of night prayer. The heart of Compline is the recitation of several psalms. There is a short reading from scripture, intercession, and time for reflection. It is a beautiful way to close out an active day. Compline is offered by St. James’ through Facebook to bring the community together. If you cannot join live, the service is available afterwards on St. James’ Facebook channel.

LENT STUDY GROUP - BASED ON THE BOOK BY JOHN BOWEN: ‘THE UNFOLDING GOSPEL: How the GOOD NEWS makes sense of discipleship, church, mission, and everything else’. Continues THIS Sunday Read Chapters 7-9 for March 19th. 11:30AM – 1:00PM

St. James will be showing the wonderful movie Peace by Chocolate, based on the true story of Syrian refugees who start a chocolate company.


April 30th ~ Westdale Theatre at 2pm and 4pm ~ Tickets $15.00 can be purchased

Half the proceeds will support earthquake survivors in Syria/Turkey and half will support the Jean Archbell Refugee fund. ‘Peace by Chocolate’ products will be available for purchase at the show. Mark your calendars now!

Flowers for the Altar

Giving altar flowers for a Sunday service is a special way to remember a loved one, give thanks for the blessings in your life, and brighten the lives of “shut-ins” and parishioners who are unwell. The second movie in the ADC Lenten Series takes place tomorrow AFTERNOON at 2pm (March 15th) at St. James! Come out to view Frozen and take part in group conversation and fellowship following the movie.



The Association of Dundas Churches Lenten Theatre Presents: A Transformational Journey Through Lent The Journey begins at 7:00 pm on Ash Wednesday at St. James Anglican, with The Imposition of Ashes and the opportunity to learn about and walk a Labyrinth. Scenes along the way… Witnessing to the transformational moments of life through Cinematic Lenses followed by conversations about the movie that bring out Lenten themes of temptation, forgiveness, God’s call, love, waiting and trials. Wed, March 1: Chocolat 7:00 pm at St. Mark’s Wed March 8: Deadman Walking 7:00 pm at St. Mark’s Wed, March 15: Frozen 2:00 pm at St. James Wed, March 22: The Whale Rider 7:00 pm at St. James Wrapping it up at 7:00 pm on Maundy Thursday at St. Mark’s United with Communion and the Stripping of the Sanctuary. May our hearts, spirits and minds be prepared for the scenes of Jesus’ own trial, denial by friends, death and rising on Easter morning, bringing us to the wonder and awe of God’s love for all.
