If you would like to join via Zoom, please contact the office on Tuesdays by 4:00pm  to receive the Zoom meeting link.

The meeting is a combination of prayer and discussion of either a devotional or a passage from scripture. We look forward to welcoming you.

WEDNESDAY COMPLINE9:15 p.m.

Compline will remain at 9:15 for the time being! Compline is a short service of night prayer. The heart of Compline is the recitation of several psalms. There is a short reading from scripture, intercession, and time for reflection. It is a beautiful way to close out an active day. Compline is offered by St. James’ through Facebook to bring the community together. If you cannot join live, the service is available afterwards on St. James’ Facebook channel.

NEWCOMER MINISTRY

During the past year St. James has been blessed with a significant number of newcomers.  A host family program is being developed where each newcomer is matched with a church member or family.  The goal of the program is to help us get to know each other and assist newcomers with integrating into the community. If you are able to engage in this project you will be matched with a single or small group of newcomers. The expectation is that you get to know them and are available to answer questions, call them once a week and have them to your home once a month.   Please contact Lynn D or Marline S. via the office 905-627-1424 or stjamesdundas@outlook.com if you would like to participate.

Questions that often arise relate to what newcomers might need. The following list is always required: Beds and small tables, chairs and small sofas, fabric and sewing machines, tools, computers, flat screen TV, microwave, iron or ironing board, blenders, toasters, bar fridges, suitcases with rollers, stereo equipment, pots and pans, cutlery, everyday dishes.

Our newcomers greatly appreciate the wonderful generosity of the St. James congregation and others in the community who have supported them.

Ellen Osler Home

If you are interested in buying nightwear for one of the women living at the Ellen Osler Home, please take a card from the Christmas Tree on the wall of the church and add your name to the sign up sheet in the Narthex. Return the gift wrapped by December 19th. Please connect with Anne W. if you have questions regarding this long-standing ministry connection with Ellen Osler Home.
