212 MacNab Street

This cottage style house, originally built in the second half of the 19th century, carries the timeless charm of its early construction while reflecting the care of a thoughtful revival.  In the 2020’s, it was rebuilt to preserve its historic character and to maintain the warmth of the original architecture while subtly blending in modern craftsmanship. Behind the classic exterior lies many “hidden” features – a secret door to the bathroom, a bed in the wall and a bookcase that hides an exterior door!

The addition of an entertainment  area and outdoor kitchen allows for frequent family get togethers and peaceful relaxation in spite of being located on a busy corner in Dundas.    Enjoy the ambiance!

The owners describe their home as an eclectic cozy cottage with a mix of old and new.  Built in 1930, the floors are reclaimed barn wood, refinished by the owners. The sunken living room has 8’ garden doors and the rooftop deck overlooks the beautiful garden and mature trees and has a fireplace crafted locally.

Every season is decorated and celebrated in this home!  Christmas décor includes a mix of decorations collected over many years and some are vintage.  Be on the lookout for the “Santa Tree” and the “Snowman Tree” and the authentic “Coca Cola” train!!

42 Osler Drive

42 Osler Dr.jpeg

Welcome to one of the oldest homes in our town, built in 1827. A fire destroyed the original home and the barn became the home in 1848.  It is situated on the Osler Drive hill, surrounded by nature and overlooking Spencer Creek.  After years of being a popular B & B, it has returned to being home for a young family.

The house is post and beam construction using the red pine on the property.  You can see the original floors and floorboards with their original nails. The kitchen, now the family room, was originally horse stalls and the “straw door” is still in place.  Gingerbread scroll trim made from barge board can be seen on the exterior.

Interesting fact:  The builder, Thomas Racey, was the first warden in the newly formed Anglican Parish of St James.

NOTE:  Parking is available on Hillside Ave.  No parking on Osler Dr.
